Dr. Caitlyn Mefford’s family moved to Nowata when she was 4 and she has called it home ever since. After graduating from Nowata High School, she attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah for her undergraduate and doctoral studies. Dr. Mefford represented the Oklahoma College of Optometry nationally as the American Optometric Student Association Trustee for her school. She graduated summa cum laude from the NSU Oklahoma College of Optometry in 2019, after which she and her husband Austin, also a Nowata High School graduate, moved back to Nowata county. She founded Vivid Eyecare in 2023 after being in private practice for 4 years. She has a passion for managing disease conditions of the eyes including glaucoma, dry eye disease and diabetic retinopathy. When she is not at the clinic you can find her at home with Austin and their daughter Emilyn, along with their dog Ella. She loves to travel, hike, and read a good book series.
